Parking rates at San Antonio hotels are very high, $25 per day plus tax at the Menger for valet parking, but there are various city lots around the hotel from $6.00-$18.00 a day. If you fly to San Antonio, you may be better off NOT renting a car, as you rarely need one during your stay for the Convention. Most normal tourist attractions are within walking distance.

There are many Parking Garages within walking distance of the Convention Center, but only 3 that are City Managed. The City of San Antonio has demolished the Hemisfair Parking Garage adjacent to the Convention Center in order to construct a new Convention Center Hotel in conjunction with Hyatt Hotels. The new high rise hotel will be named: Grand Hyatt San Antonio, and is nearing completion.
Parking Fee Update:
The City of San Antonio has just completed a Parking Survey and it has approved a Parking fee increase effective on July 1, 2008. The $6.00 maximum will probably be $7.00. The increase varies by location — from 25 cents up to $1.50 for hourly rates, and from $1 to $3 for special event parking. Downtown's 2,000 parking meters will not be affected.
